യു.പി.സ്കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ക്കായി ഒരു ചിത്രകലാ മത്സരം നടത്തുകയുണ്ടായി. നിരവധി വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. കുരുന്നുപ്രായത്തിന്റെ കഴിവ് തെളിയിക്കുന്ന ഒട്ടേറെ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ പിറവിയെടുത്തു. പക്ഷെ വിധികര്‍ത്താക്കളുടെ കണ്ണില്‍ പതിഞ്ഞത് ആ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക ചിത്രമായിരുന്നു. ഒര് ആദിവാസി ബാലന്‍ കരിമ്പ്‌ കഴിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രം... . . ഒട്ടേറെ ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായി. പട്ടിണിമൂലം വേറൊന്നും കഴിക്കാന്‍ ഇല്ലാത്ത ആ നഷ്ട ബാല്യത്തെ ചിത്രീകരിച്ച വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിക്ക് പ്രശംസകള്‍ ഏറെ ആയിരുന്നു. കുറെ നല്ല ചിത്രങ്ങളെ പിന്നിലാക്കി ആ ചിത്രം തന്നെ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്തിന് അര്‍ഹത നേടി. . . സമ്മാനദാന ചടങ്ങില്‍ പ്രസംഗിച്ചവരും കുട്ടിയുടെ വീക്ഷണത്തെ ആവോളം പ്രശംസിച്ചു. അവസാനം ആ ചിത്രം വരയ്ക്കാനുള്ള സാഹചര്യം വ്യകതമാക്കാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍, നിഷ്കളങ്കനായ ആ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥി ഇതാണ് പറഞ്ഞത്.... . .
